To the fine people of Mancos, I bid you a warm hello. My name is Jaime Becktel, humble successor to Dian Law - faithful Art Beat columnist for The Mancos Times the past eight years.
Dian asked if I would carry on with keeping our community apprised of all things art and culture and I accept the responsibility with great happiness.
I've been living in Mancos for two years and am so inspired by the fervently growing art and music scene within Montezuma County.
As the new generation of Art Beat, I want to celebrate the natural and cultural treasures we are so fortunate to experience in the Southwest.
I invite you to send me information on the upcoming shows, performances, open studios and workshops of local and visiting artists, writers, musicians, thespians, poets, painters and potters.
We are awash in creativity, and in that swirl of paint and prose, we are lucky indeed.
Please feel free to email me at [email protected].
Nice to meet ya'll.
