This week was a flurry of activities at the schools.
On Monday, the Senior Awards night was held.
The students were thrilled to receive scholarships and awards from community organizations.
The Dolores High School seniors walked away with fistfulls of scholarships. The Dolores Chamber of Commerce awarded 14 students with scholarships. The Dolores Booster Club awarded five students scholarships, a much larger number than usual this year. This Booster club has an annual tradition of simply drawing names out of a hat and awarding the scholarships. This, is a relief to those who win and to others sick of filling out applications. The community should be proud of this year's 2014 graduating class.
Don't forget, graduation is at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Main Gym.
Speaking of seniors ...
The seniors left for their class trip on Tuesday. Their destination - Disney Land. A bus left with the students at 3 p.m. Tuesday. They were expected to drive to Gallup and catch an overnight train to Los Angeles. The students were then expected to spend the day and night at Disney Land. The seniors, and class sponsors, were very excited as the bus pulled out.
