Veterans honored at Cortez parade

Hundreds line Montezuma Avenue in support of military service
Veteran groups led the parade in Cortez on Wednesday.
The Pagosa Springs San Juan Squadron did two flyovers Wednesday at the Cortez Veterans Day Parade on Montezuma Avenue.
Veteran Dan Tanner, who served in the U.S. Army as a medic, was grateful for the community support during the Veterans Day Parade in Cortez Wednesday. Tanner holds a green light bulb. Residents are encouraged to show support for veterans by taking part in the Greenlight a Vet program.

The Veterans Day Parade was led and sponsored by the American Legion Ute Mountain Post 75 Wednesday afternoon.

Montezuma County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5231 and other local veteran organizations led a parade down West Montezuma Avenue Wednesday afternoon to honor those who served in the military.
