Earning top-20 status in her final prep-level cross-country race, Mancos senior Grace Manning (536) runs during the last mile of the 2020 CHSAA State Championships’ Class 2A girls’ grand finale Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Norris-Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs. Finishing between Fort Collins Heritage Christian Academy freshman Ainsley Stanton (22:00.40) and senior Sophia Schuemann (22:10.00), Manning clocked 22:07.20 and placed 19th overall. Colorado Springs-area junior standout Ella Johnson of The Vanguard School earned the individual crown in 19:34.50, with Peyton junior Eowyn Dalbec (19:43.70) and Buena Vista junior Mallory Salazar (20:19.90) her nearest threats.
