A 30-year-old Durango woman died Sunday after driving off U.S. Route 50, west of Delta, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Trooper Josh Lewis said Justine Byrum was driving east on Route 50 when she lost control of the vehicle around 1:25 p.m., about 7 miles outside Delta near mile marker 64.
Lewis said the vehicle went off the right side of the road and rolled multiple times.
Byrum, not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, Lewis said.
A 1-year-old girl, who was properly restrained, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Delta County Memorial Hospital, Lewis said.
Lewis said excessive speed as well as possible alcohol or drugs are suspected factors in the crash.
Lewis said the crash remains under investigation.
