Re: Ian MacLaren’s “Progressive Pitch” column defending a coach’s right to do his job unencumbered by political correctness (Journal, 03/14). I find it ironic that MacLaren’s own progressive politics are largely responsible for the politically correct thought and speech that has woven itself into our society, resulting in consequences such as the effective neutering of “hard-nosed” coaching. Mr. MacLaren will find little sympathy here for his newfound regret of the insidious restrictions placed upon freedom of expression wrought by his own political allies.
