I just returned from shopping and was horrified to see that about half of the shoppers were not wearing masks.
A week ago when I shopped, many more people had their faces covered.
Anyone who reads and watches the news is aware that droplets from people infected with COVID-19 can linger in the air for as long as 14 minutes and that wearing masks can save thousands of lives.
In Durango, people must wear masks in public places, and I feel very strongly that people in Cortez should do the same.
I’m almost 71 years old and would like to live a lot longer.
Shopping for necessities would be a lot less stressful if people had their faces covered to protect themselves and others.
