The town of Mancos is hosting a three-day cleanup in mid-August.
The event is Aug. 13-15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local residents are invited to gather up their old household items, scrap metal and junk, and take it for free disposal to 300 Monte St., the Public Works Shop near Cottonwood Park.
Hazardous materials such as asbestos, fertilizer chemicals, batteries, used oil and other fluids will not be accepted. E-waste also will not be accepted.
For a fee, the town will dispose of used tires.
Tire disposal fees are:
$4.25 each for standard car/truck tires, and small skid steers.$14.25 for semitrailer tires 17.5 inches and up, and large skid steers.$35 for tractor tires up to 200 pounds.$75 for tractor tires 200-500 pounds.All tires with rims will cost double.[email protected]
