Looking across the student body at Montezuma-Cortez High School, one would be hard pressed to find a more involved student-athlete than Sage Kramer.
A pacesetter in the classroom, a leader in the community and a solid athlete to boot, the super-senior has left an indelible mark on those around her.
A well-rounded athlete, Kramer participated in tennis as a freshman and sophomore, ran cross-country as a junior and swam on her school’s swim team all four years of high school.
Known as a tireless worker, Kramer was not always a natural in the water, but over the course of four years, evolved into a solid swimmer for the Panthers.
“Freshman year, I didn’t know how to swim,” said Kramer. “Being able to swim on relays at regionals my senior year was a huge accomplishment.”
More than just an athlete, Kramer participates in numerous extracurricular activities including Marching Band, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, and French Club, where she served as President during her junior year.
A talented student, Kramer currently holds a 3.8 GPA and was recently accepted to Colorado State University.
If she elects to attend Colorado State, Kramer may major in political science.
Prior to fulfilling her college dreams however, Kramer plans to enjoy her senior year, where she will undoubtedly continue serving as a strong example to those around her.
Asked what advice she would give students hoping to follow in her footsteps, Kramer was frank.
“Don’t sleep and work in the mornings,” she said, chuckling.
