The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center and the Anasazi Heritage Center invite the public to a reception and exhibition opening for Museum on the Ground, Saturday, Feb. 15.
The event will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Anasazi Heritage Center, 27501 Highway 184, Dolores. Admission will be free, and refreshments will be served.
Held in fall 2013 at Lowry Pueblo near Pleasant View, the Museum on the Ground program provided an introduction to Southwest archaeology and history for more than 200 fourth-grade students from seven local schools. The students learned about the people who had lived at the pueblo nearly 1,000 years ago.
Crow Canyon educators, Anasazi Heritage Center staff and volunteers, and members of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe shared their knowledge of Pueblo and Ute culture and history.
The exhibition runs through April 12.
