The SJMA, San Juan National Forest and BLM Tres Rios Field Office will offer a program to become a Forest Service Junior Snow Ranger at the Chicken Creek Cross-Country Skin Area on Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. The Bridge Emergency Shelter will have their 7th annual Soups of the World on Feb. 22 beginning at 5 p.m. with dessert auction beginning at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 515 N. Park St. in Cortez. Tickets cost $10 and kids under 12 are free. This year, soup bowls made and donated by Southwest Open School Students will be sold for an additional $10. The Dolores Rotary Club will sponsor a bingo night at the Dolores Community Center on Feb. 25. Proceeds will benefit the Mancos students traveling to Costa Rica for a science trip March 31 - April 7. Dr Robert: the Beatles Tribute Band comes to the Dolores Community Center on Friday, Feb. 28, from 7 p.m. - 12 a.m. Admission is $10, with kids 12 and under free. Local jazz funk band Afrobeat Minions open the show. Dress in your best '60s and '70s garb! All ages are welcome, bar for 21 years and older, food concession by The Pie Maker. The Dolores Chamber of Commerce will hold their Annual Spring Banquet on March 1 at the Dolores Community Center with a Cash Bar at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. This year's theme is Mardi Gras. There will be music by the AfrobeatMinions and a silent auction to benefit the Dolores High School Scholarship fund. Little League Baseball is now open for registration. Super Saturday registration will take place at the Cortez Recreation Center on Feb. 8 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or at Hibbett Sports on March 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Baseball is open for ages 4 to 15 as of April 30. Cost varies from $55 to $105 according to age. To save money register by Feb. 15, registration closes March 9.
