An Interagency Pre-Position Resource Fire Camp has been set up along Colorado Highway 140 near Old Fort Lewis in Hesperus. Forty-fire crew members and support staff are based at the area because of high fire danger. They can respond quickly to lightning strikes and larger fires. Firefighters have responded to 10 fires since the camp was set up June 1.
