Money raised

The Southwestern Colorado Livestock Association raised about $10,000 for scholarships at their annual banquet Saturday night, said Lynelle Brumley the executive secretary and treasurer. The money was raised through a silent auction, a live auction and donations from area businesses. The top two items were a wine bottle decorated with area brands and a Navajo rug, which raised a total of $2,800. This is the most the association has ever raised for scholarships, she said.
“People had great fun bidding against each other,” Brumley said.
