On the topic of COVID-19, we all remember President Trump telling us “It’s totally under control” and “It’ll go away by April like magic.”
I’m guessing these assurances ring a bit hollow to the friends and family of the more than 85,000 who have died.
Likewise, they miss the mark for the many thousand health care workers who are putting their lives at risk to care for the sick.
So now, to divert attention from his erratic, ineffective and irrational (“Maybe try injecting disinfectant”) management of this deadly pandemic, Trump is talking about how Barack Obama caused Michael Flynn to confess to lying to the FBI.
Really? That’s the plan? That’s what the president has come up with in this time of national crisis?
Well, OK, but if that doesn’t work out, he could revisit nuking hurricanes, raking the national forests to control wildfires or quadrupling the Postal Service price to Amazon.
There are plenty of nutty ideas from this administration that would normally provide entertaining diversion – if it weren’t for all the dying.
