I have treasured getting The Cortez Journal, and then The Journal. I love to hear about local events and see advertising. In spite of the liberal dribble, I like to have the paper physically in my hands.
When it dropped to twice a week, I was sad. When I heard that you were going to once a week, it upset me. I think we should get an extension on our subscription to make up for it.
The paper is more than just something to start fires or a liner for the birdcages. It is a tradition we treasure. I don’t want to have to look at a tiny screen to read the news. We can’t light fires with smartphones, although I feel like it at times.
Please reconsider your options. I will not look online to read the news. I will search for another paper to get. We deserve a local paper.
