Scott Hoehn works on his raised gardens on Market Street in Cortez. He recently purchased a home with a steep sloping yard, so he had circular terraces installed with irrigation. His tulips and daffodils are blooming, and he has also planted, sage, yucca, and bristle cone pine. Apple, cherry, peach and apricot trees were also added. A solar-powered fountain recently came to life. “I used to work on a farm, so this is a good project for me,” Hoehn said. “It makes people slow down and look.”
