Atmos Energy announced this week that its employees would wear face coverings when social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, such as when working outside or around others.
Atmos Energy employees may be working in local neighborhoods and plans to work with plumbers or other qualified people to limit in-home customer interaction.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have recommended cloth face coverings instead of medical grade face masks to preserve N95 respirator masks for health care professionals and medical first responders.
