As concerns about coronavirus (COVID-19) continue, the health and safety of library patrons and employees are a priority, the Cortez Public Library said in a news release.
The library has canceled or postponed events held at the library March 15 through April 6.
“The current situation regarding coronavirus is rapidly developing and the library is closely monitoring information from Public Health officials in Montezuma County and the State of Colorado and will follow their recommendations moving forward,” the library said.
The library said it is following recommendations to clean frequently touched surfaces more often and have made hand sanitizer available throughout the building. The library also encouraged patrons to follow good hygiene practices such as frequent hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes and staying home when sick.
As a reminder, the library also has two digital services RBdigital and Overdrive which have thousands of digital resources available, including, streaming video, ebooks, eaudiobooks and digital magazines. Both of these services can be used by library card holders and have apps available for Android, Windows, and iOS operating systems.
