The Dolores Fire Protection District will ask registered voters for a tax increase in May.
The district asks for a 10-mill increase, which is expected to raise $225,000 to $250,000 per year for replacement equipment. Residential taxes are expected to rise by $28.60 per year per $100,000 of assessed value, and $116 per year for non-residential per $100,000 of assessed value.

Ballots will be mailed in April and must be returned by May 5.
