Forum on education funding draws a crowd in Mancos

Teachers, community urge legislators to prioritize education

The forum was widely attended by people from throughout Southwest Colorado, many of whom wore “red for ed.”
Greg Lawler, who serves on the Ridgway school board and works for the Colorado Education Association, has been a strong advocate for more educational funding at the state level.
Jennifer Latham of the Durango Education Support Professionals Association spoke about the crucial role paraprofessionals play for the most vulnerable students.
