The Mancos Public Library will host a series of art journal workshops starting next month.
Local artist Lille Diane will lead a six-week course, showing attendees styles of journaling and demonstrating a variety of mixed media techniques that include paints, markers, collage, stencils, stamps and recycled tools and items.
Throughout the sessions, participants will talk about the benefits of keeping an art journal.
The workshops will take place at the library Tuesday nights from 6-8:30 p.m. March 3 through April 7. There is space for 12 participants, and no drop-ins will be accepted, since each week’s lesson builds on the previous one and leads to the next.
The class is open to people ages 16 and older. Registration is available at the library’s circulation desk. It is offered free of charge, but a $20 materials fee is suggested.
