San Juan Regional Medical Center will offer a free community osteoarthritis presentation as part of the Relax and Thrive Health Series at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Farmington Public Library Multipurpose Room, 2101 Farmington Ave. Light appetizers will be served at 5:30 p.m.
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, affecting millions of people. It is also known as degenerative joint disease, when the protective cartilage that cushions your bones wears down over time. It most commonly affects joints in hands, knees, hips and spine, but can damage any joint.
A physical therapist and an orthopedic surgeon panel will discuss ways to keep joints healthy to reduce or eliminate joint pain, enhance mobility and improve quality of life.
