Monday, Dec. 2
9:20 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 4100 block of U.S. Highway 160 about a reported extortion threat on the internet. A man reported that he showed his genitalia to a woman on Facebook, and he said the woman recorded the online encounter and attempted to extort money from the him. The man showed the deputy a message from the woman that said, “So if you don’t really want this video of you to be shared on social networks and even in your public place then you pay $15,000 in American charity, all over the world, take care of the helpless, injured victims of the war or destruction attack, then you can you pay that amount.” The deputy said the ungrammatical English is typical of a foreign Facebook scam. The deputy is attempting to identify the origin of the Facebook message and the case remains open.
Tuesday, Dec. 3
3:38 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., to issue an active warrant to a woman. The woman was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
4:07 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., to issue two active warrants to a woman. The woman was arrested and left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.
Wednesday, Dec. 4
11:14 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to serve an active warrant to a female inmate.
Thursday, Dec. 5
7:42 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to serve an active warrant to a male inmate.
10:30 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to a reported disturbance in the 18700 block of Colorado Highway 145. Six people were involved in a fracas, but, because of different stories from all parties involved, the deputy could not determine if anyone should be charged.
1:17 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to serve two active warrants to a female inmate.
3:38 p.m. A deputy was observing a trailer park in the 400 block of West Seventh Street, when he noticed a man with an active warrant. The man was arrested and found to be in possession of a residue that tested positive for meth. The man was left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.
4:13 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., to issue active warrants to two women and a man. All three people were arrested and left in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.
11:39 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 38900 block of County Road P near Mancos to assist with a reported chimney fire that spread to the house. The house was destroyed, and a victim advocate was on scene to help the family.
Friday, Dec. 6
4:35 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 23500 block of County Road F.5 about a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman was arrested for trespassing. The man involved said he did not want to press charges, and the woman was released.
7:57 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to issue two active warrants to a male inmate.
2:33 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 21000 block of U.S. Highway 491 to assist the Colorado State Patrol with a drug recognition expert. A man was issued a summons for driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs.
Saturday, Dec. 7
5:50 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 2500 block of East Main Street in Cortez about a report of a vehicle blocking traffic. A pickup with a trailer was blocking the Frontage Road in front of Hunan restaurant. The driver said he had run out of gas. The driver was issued a summons for driving without valid insurance, driving without a valid driver’s license and driving an unregistered vehicle.
8:53 p.m. A deputy initiated a traffic stop in the 33000 block of U.S. Highway 160 for a vehicle that appeared to be speeding. The woman driving had a revoked driver’s license. The vehicle was released to the woman’s husband, who had a valid Colorado driver’s license.
Sunday, Dec. 8
4:42 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 160 about a report of property damage. The deputy filed a report about a damaged LED sign that had been vandalized. No suspects or leads were identified.
11:35 p.m. A deputy was called to the 10000 block of Central Avenue in Dolores about a report of a stolen bicycle. Deputies searched the area and followed bicycle tracks in the snow, but the bicycle was not located.
Monday, Dec. 9
4:58 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., to remand a man into custody. The man was arrested and left in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center.
Tuesday, Dec. 10
10:25 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to issue two active warrants to a female inmate.
