The town of Mancos is seeking qualified contractors to do sidewalk repair and replacement construction.
Mancos reinstated its 50-50 matching program over the summer to share in the cost of installing sidewalks with property owners. Four applications are currently under review, and each project is slated to receive $750 from town coffers.
"Staff is evaluating these applications, and we are seeking bids for the concrete work," said Town Administrator Andrea Phillips.
The next round of funding will be made available next spring.
Town zoning laws require property owners to maintain their respective sidewalks in adjacent public right-of-way to ensure that they are safe for pedestrians.
In related news, town officials awarded two first-place citizen recognition awards last week to properties at 643 Riverside and 715 Riverside.
