I am pleased to write this letter on behalf of the Board of Trustees in support of Referendum 5D. The Montezuma-Cortez Hospital District provides an excellent service to the residents of Montezuma County, and should there be an opportunity to improve the quality of service by leveraging grant money, the town of Dolores supports that effort. Health care is an important driver for economic sustainability as well. Heath care and education are the most commonly researched services when families and businesses are looking for places to relocate. Montezuma County needs to enhance its ability to compete in the marketplace as well as cover the needs of its constituency’s health-care needs. The town of Dolores sees this opportunity as a win-win for all of Montezuma County.
