The Not Your Average Holiday Movie series will present a lineup of holiday films at 7 p.m. Dec. 5, 12 and 13 at Sunflower Theatre, 8 E. Main St. The following films will be shown:
Dec. 5: “The Thin Man.” The story of a retired detective who, while spending much of his time managing his wife’s considerable fortune and consuming quantities of alcohol, is asked to follow the trail of a missing inventor. Based on the book by Dashiell Hammet, 1934.Dec. 12: “Gremlins.” A gadget salesman is looking for a special gift for his son and finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the “mogwai,” but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light or water, or to feed him after midnight. Produced by Steven Speilberg, 1984.Dec. 13: “Die Hard.” New York City policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and two daughters on Christmas Eve. The festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it.
