WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. – Navajo Nation parks are open and will remain open.
Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation Department Manager Martin L. Begaye announced Wednesday, Oct. 2, that all Navajo Nation tribal parks are currently open.
“We are not affected by the federal shut down like many national parks throughout the country.”
Begaye said Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation is receiving a lot of questions regarding the impact of the federal shut down.
“We want to ensure travelers that they are welcome to visit all of our Navajo tribal parks and we are open seven days a week with the exception of Christmas, New Year’s and Thanksgiving.”
Navajo tribal parks include: Little Colorado River Navajo Tribal Park, Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Four Corners Monument, Bowl Canyon Recreation Area and Window Rock Navajo Tribal Park.”
