Land of Enchantment to provide the Capitol Christmas Tree

Blue spruce will visit Shiprock and Bloomfield this week
The U.S. Capitol’s Christmas tree was harvested Nov. 6 from the Carson National Forest in New Mexico.
The tree cutting ceremony took place Nov. 6 on the east side of Red River, New Mexico. A sawyer severed the trunk of the 60-foot-tall, 68-year-old blue spruce, then a crane jerked it several feet up in the air. A second crane helped swing the tree onto a flatbed trailer.
