Kids looking to explore, build, hike, create and work together outside are encouraged to attend Outdoor Adventures.
Sponsored by the Mancos Public Library, Outdoor Adventures is a place-based, experiential education inspired after-school program starting Thursday, Oct. 3.
Held on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m., the program was developed by a team of educators, biologists, artists, outdoor recreation specialists and librarians.
“The activities will be derived by the interests and passions of the kids,” said librarian Kate Kearns.
Outdoor Adventures is open to children from 9 to 12 years of age. Each child must be able to walk or hike two miles over mildly rough terrain in all weather.
A $20 fee is required, which includes a healthful snack at each meeting. For scholarships or additional information, call the Mancos Public Library at 970-533-7600.
