The Colorado Department of Transportation is seeking volunteers to serve on the governing committee for the Trail of the Ancients Scenic and Historic Byway.
Volunteers would be part of a team promoting and managing a byway that offers travelers an opportunity to experience centuries-old archaeological sites through a sunbaked landscape of sandstone, piñon, juniper and sagebrush.
Duties would include maintaining a regular meeting schedule, holding at least one public event, participating in at least four events per year and completing an annual survey.
The Trail of the Ancients Scenic and Historic Byway was designated as a National Scenic Byway in 2005. Interested individuals should contact Lenore Bates at (303) 757-9786 or [email protected].
