Election schedule

Ute Mountain Ute election

Oct. 11: Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.


Polling locations: Towaoc Community Center, Sunset Blvd., Towaoc; White Mesa Community Center, Willow St., White Mesa, Utah.


Results will be tallied in public at the Towaoc Community Center after the polls close.
Montezuma County election

Sept. 20: Ballots for military personnel mailed out.


Oct. 14: Ballots will be mailed to all active voters.


To be counted, mail ballots must be returned to and in the hands of the Montezuma County Clerk and Recorder no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5, 2019. Postmarks do not count.

Oct. 25: Recommended deadline to mail back ballots in order to arrive at Montezuma County Clerk’s office by 7 p.m. Nov. 5.


Oct. 28-Nov. 5: Voters can register to vote, obtain a replacement ballot or drop off their mail in ballots in person at the Montezuma County Clerk & Recorders Office, 140 W. Main St., Suite 1, Cortez.


Nov. 2: Montezuma County Clerk and Recorder’s Office Election Department will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ballot drop-off and replacement ballots.


Nov. 1-5: 24-hour ballot drop boxes will be available from 9 a.m. Nov. 1 to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at the following addresses: Montezuma County Clerk & Recorder 140 W. Main St., Suite No. 1, Cortez; Dolores Town Hall 420 Central Ave., Dolores; Mancos Town Hall 117 N. Main St., Mancos; Ute Mountain Tribal Complex Building, 124 Mike Wash Road, Towaoc.


Nov. 5, ELECTION DAY: Montezuma County Clerk and Recorder’s Office is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 140 W. Main St., Suite No. 1, Cortez.


Registering to vote: If you are not registered to vote in Colorado and are a citizen of the United States and will have attained the age of 18 and resided in Colorado for at least 22 days by Election Day, you can register to vote until 7 p.m. on Election Day.


If you want to receive a mail ballot, you must do so before Oct. 28, otherwise, you will need to visit a Voter Service and Polling Center to vote.
You can register to vote or update your existing voter registration at www.govotecolorado.com, a Voter Service and Polling Center, or at the Montezuma County Clerk and Recorder’s Office at 140 W. Main St. Suite No. 1, Cortez.
