Join local and park astronomers for the annual Star Party in Mesa Verde National Park from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Morefield Campground Amphitheater, 4 miles into the park.
Mesa Verde Park Ranger Kayla Lanoue will guide you through the event. Kayla has presented night sky programs at Dinosaur National Monument and Chaco Culture National Historic Park. Highlights will include constellation identification, multicultural sky stories and stunning telescope views of the many beautiful heavenly objects adorning the early fall night sky.
Stargazers should dress warmly, bring a blanket or chair to sit on, not bring dogs, bring binoculars if possible and red lights only after dark.
