Southwest Colorado Outdoor Recreation Alliance, launched in May at the Southwest Colorado Outdoor Leadership Summit at Osprey headquarters, brings together regional leaders to collaborate and help make outdoor recreation thrive in Southwest Colorado across four pillars of economic development, conservation and stewardship, education and training, and health and wellness.
As spokesperson for the leadership team of the Southwest Colorado Outdoor Recreation Alliance, Lisa Branner recently joined the Advisory Council of Colorado’s Outdoor Recreation Industry Office.
Launched by Gov. John Hickenlooper in 2015, OREC is housed within the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. The office provides a central point of contact, advocacy and resources at the state level for the diverse businesses and communities that rely on the continued health of the outdoor recreation economy.
Branner, community relations manager for the town of Silverton and co-founder of Silverton-based craft manufacturer Venture Snowboards, served as a panelist and later stepped up as the spokesperson for SWCORA. Her role includes amplifying the voice of the Southwest Colorado outdoor recreation industry and collaborating with other OREC Advisory Council members from around the state.
