Underwood Optical is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year and will be hosting an after-hours party with the Cortez Area Chamber of Commerce from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12, at the business, located at 22 S. Beech St.
The business will also introduce it’s newest doctor, Tyler Underwood, who is the third generation of the family to join the practice.
Dr. Lincoln Underwood started the business in August 1954. He was joined by his son, Duke Underwood in 1984.
The after-hours party will feature a fashion show in partnership with Love on a Hanger. Also, a representative from the eyewear firm Oakley will be at the store all day with Oakley’s latest glasses, which will be available for examination.
