Dear Editor:
Why does it appear there are a lot of individuals serving for organizations as board members within our community that have personal agendas? I would hope if you chose to serve you would do your best for the organization and the community as a whole and not to meet your own personal needs. I have served and have come into contact with a lot of walls where agendas for personal gain have prevented the growth and achievement of an organizations mission statement. By-laws, financial statements and historic records should be available to all current members and board members. You would think organizations should have open meetings to encourage the communitys involvement in assisting the elected board members to accomplish the organizations mission. In the present economy you would think organizations should have a positive working relationship with the public, other organizations and within themselves to meet goals. Is it possible that if you truly care for the organization you could be more involved in a positive way to move forward?
