Now everyone can notice all the work that went into making the town look more festive.
The men and women volunteers with the town's garden group worked hard to put flowers into planters and then distribute them throughout the downtown area.
Everything was purchased through the help of all those who donated dollars and even planters for the project.
The Cowboy Photo Booth set up by the Mancos Valley Arts Council proved to be another big success.
While we had a fair amount of rain, it didn't seem to put a damper on the festive spirit in town. A "big thanks" goes out to the Mancos Fire Department for the fireworks on Saturday night.
The next big events for Mancos will include the Sugar Pine Ranch Rally on Labor Day Weekend.
We'll have another Grand Summer Nights gallery walk on Friday, Aug. 30, and the Balloon and ArtFest is coming up the end of September.
Event organizers can always use volunteers. You can call the Visitor Center at (970) 533-7434, for more information, and we'll work to help you connect with event coordinators if you would be interested in helping at any of the events coming up.
The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will be meeting on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the Visitor Center, 101 E. Bauer.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Marianne Griffin is executive director of the Mancos Valley Chamber of commerce/Visitor Center.
