Nellie (Matlock) Allum passed away on July 27, 2013, at the age of 91.
She was born to Clinton and Anna Matlock on May 4, 1922, and lived her whole life in the Mancos Valley until four years ago, when she moved to Boulder, Colo., to live nearer to family.
She married Jack Allum on Oct. 21, 1941, and they lived on their ranch east of the entrance to Mesa Verde and in Cortez.
She traveled to all states of the United States, except North Dakota, as well trips to Europe, Australia and the Mediterranean.
Nellie enjoyed her family, working in her yard and playing cards with everyone.
She is a 65-year survivor of thyroid cancer.
She was the last of her nine Matlock siblings and was also preceded in death by her husband Jack in 1988.
She is survived by her daughter, Janelle Beaber (Jerry) from Boulder and her son John (Charlotte) from Ft. Collins, along with six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Cremation has taken place, and a family graveside service will be held at a later day as she requested.
