The board of directors of Empire Electric Association has a special program to aid past scholarship recipients to continue their post-high school educations.
There are 15 $1,000 scholarships available, funded predominantly out of unclaimed capital credits. To be eligible, students must not have a lapse between high school and college and/or must be a previous recipient of an EEA scholarship.
Applicants must be EEA members, or a dependent of a member. Applicants may not apply for more than one scholarship per year and may not receive more than four total scholarships during their educational careers.
Scholarship recipients include:
Cortez: Marcus Amrine, Courtney Cashner, Trystan Henderson, Brendan Jones, Nichole Kibel and Colton Reynolds.
Mancos: Ashley Cole, Zane Wilson and Caleb Yoder.
Dolores: Kayleen Bowie and Jasper Breitenbach.
Monticello, Utah: Thomas Anderson, LaShay Lewis, Brent Maloy and Erin Rogers.
