For both beginning and seasoned bird watchers., Sunday morning is an ideal time to look for feathered critters at Mancos State Park.
Park Naturalist Carol Bylsma leads a bird walk every Sunday morning starting at 7:30 a.m. On a recent Sunday morning, people on the walk saw more than 20 different bird species, from wild turkeys to a spotted towhee.
Mancos State Park is located about five miles north of the town of Mancos.
