Skaters, musicians, hula hoopers, and more took over the Cortez Skate Park last Saturday for the annual Suicide Awareness Skateboarding Competition.
This was the eighth year that the competition has happened. It’s sponsored by the 4 Corners 4 Life Suicide Awareness Foundation, and aims to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide through creating a safe and supportive space.
In addition to the skateboarding and freestyle BMX competition, this year’s event featured music from hip-hop artist G-Life, guest speakers from local nonprofits, food, and more.
