Durango gives initial OK for $3.9 million land purchase at airport

Property would allow growth near existing terminal
The Durango-La Plata County Airport plans to purchase 12.5 acres of land for about $3.9 million with a 10-year lease-to-own purchase agreement.

Durango-La Plata County Airport Director Tony Vicari said land being purchased adjacent to the terminal will likely be used to expand passenger vehicle parking, rental car facilities and a circulation road or airport road realignment, which could free up land for a possible terminal expansion.
