I am running for the district 5 Empire Electric Association director seat. I bring nearly 30 years of experience as a research engineer at Sandia National Laboratories working in the energy sector. For the past 20 years, I have lived in Cortez with my wife, Kim, and my two daughters. During this time, I telecommuted to Sandia, which allowed me to raise my daughters in Cortez and at the same time develop the skills and technical expertise that I believe can be of great benefit to our community.
I have developed successful multimillion dollar technical projects, managed funding and personnel and implemented solutions to complex technical challenges. Often, the key to my success has been devising ways to meet technical requirements at reduced cost.
Here at home, I used my expertise to lead the eight members on our local irrigation ditch from pending water-abandonment to a state-of-the-art pressurized pipeline system. My family uses this system to maintain a restored apple orchard, a flock of sheep and large market gardens.
In the changing and increasingly uncertain world of today’s energy, I have the background to implement modern technologies that make sense for our community and will ensure clean, reliable and bill-lowering energy resources for the EEA membership.
I do it for Sandia, I did it for the ditch and I can do it for the EEA membership.
My knowledge and unique skill set will provide a needed professional and technical perspective to the EEA board that will lower your monthly bill.
