The Journal
School of the West will host a beginning watercolor workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 25 at Mancos Artist Studio, 13602 Road 33.6.
Paint a landscape in watercolor. Learn how to set up a palette, what watercolor paper is best, brushes and their care, basic composition using photographs, use of color, texture, and perspective and how watercolor is different from oils or acrylics.
Students will have time to paint one to two watercolors and will be offered a final critique. Materials will be provided, but students can bring their own as well. All levels are welcome. Cost for the workshop is $95. Bring your own lunch.
