School of the West will host a Beginner Stained Glass Window class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 11 and 18, at Artist Studio, 161 S. Main St.
Students will create a finished 10-inch by 12-inch stained-glass window – using their choice of a variety of colored and textured glass. A “cartoon” design will be given which includes straight and curved edges for the student to learn to practice cutting glass into different shapes.
Adequate time will be spent practicing cutting glass, leading, soldering, and cementing a final creation. Additional time in the studio will be available for any students who need it. Bring an apron if you have one. All other materials will be included: glass, cutters, soldering iron, lead, flux, stain-glass primer book.
All Levels are welcome. For more information, visit www.schoolofthewest.org/course/stained-glass-may.
