Agencies consider Sage Hen motorized trail proposal

Plan would allow motorized vehicles on route to Dolores River Canyon
Officials with the San Juan National Forest, Bureau of Reclamation, Montezuma County Recreation Committee, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife are proposing to allow seasonal, motorized use on an existing road in the Sage Hen area bordering McPhee Reservoir.
Several entities propose making an existing road through the Sage Hen area motorized. The 4.4-mile route is shown in yellow between Montezuma County Road X and Forest Road 504 at the base of McPhee Dam.
