The 2019 Mesa Verde National Park artist-in-residence program kicks off with composer and performer Adam Goodwin from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Far View Lodge Library in Mesa Verde National Park and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mancos Public Library, 211 W. First St.
Adam, a double bassist, composer and visual artist, will offer two free public programs titled “Composing with Nature,” including performances on the double bass that interpret sounds of the park. He then will discuss composition in relation natural patterns, weather systems, animal sounds and geological processes.
Originally from Texas, Goodwin lives in Germany. Goodwin, who has degrees in classical and contemporary double bass performance, has performed in Europe, Asia and North America.
