The San Juan Mountains Association will celebrate National Trails Day with a free Poker Run trail ride from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 1, at Mud Springs Recreation Area. The event will promote responsible use and sharing of public lands. This will be a family-friendly event, and children 10 and up are invited if accompanied by an adult.
Bicycles, hikers, and fully tacked-up horses are welcome to participate, but dogs, stallions and motorized bicycles are not allowed. The last group will leave at 10 a.m. in order to return by 2 p.m.
Participants can win prizes and will enjoy a lunch at noon, provided by Hoofbeats 4-H.
