The Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center is sponsoring a half-day workshop, “Starting Your Business,” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 9 at the Durango Public Library, program room one.
Starting a business can be challenging and uncertain. This course is designed to help you navigate through the steps needed to start a successful business. Presenters include a small business specialist, marketing expert, insurance agent, small-business banker, local alternative lending resources, an attorney and an accountant.
Topics to be covered include: business planning, legal structure, taxes, insurance, marketing and market research, finance options, and available local resources.
Fee for the workshop is $25 or $20 for Chamber of Commerce/Local First members. Bring a brown bag lunch and/or snacks.
