Tuesday, April, 2
8:52 a.m.: Someone reported a burglary at the Ute Mountain Indian Trading Co., 27601 U.S. Highway 160. The burglary occurred sometime between March 27 and April 2.
9:32 a.m.: A man was placed in custody and booked at the Montezuma County Detention Center on an outstanding warrant.
3:11 p.m.: A man in the 10700 block of County Road 24.4 reported a fraudulent Pay Pal service. The man reported he lost $300 to the fraudulent service.
Thursday, April 4
8:14 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 6700 block of County Road 24 and booked in the Montezuma County Detention Center for violating a restraining order.
11:02 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 700 block of Driscoll Street in Cortez for failure to appear in court on multiple traffic offenses.
8:30 p.m.: Two men with multiple outstanding warrants were arrested in the 40700 block of U.S. Highway 160. A Montezuma County Sheriff’s deputy assisted the Mancos Marshal’s office in the arrests. One of the men who was arrested was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital with a hand wound suffered when he was bitten by a K-9 during the arrest. The man was then taken from the hospital to the Montezuma County Detention Center.
8:34 p.m.: A man reported his border collie had been killed and dumped at a location in the 30000 bock of Road H near Cortez. The carcass had gunshot wounds that appeared consistent with buckshot from a shotgun.
Friday, April 5
12:05: p.m.: A woman at the Montezuma County Detention Center was served a warrant. She was left in the custody of jail staff.
6:38 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence near mile marker 22 on Colorado Highway 145. The man was uncooperative while en route to Southwest Memorial Hospital for a medical clearance, the man began cursing at the arresting deputy. He also claimed to know people who knew voodoo who would put a hex on the arresting officer. The man also said a prayer requesting that “bad things” would happen to the officer while on duty. The man said he wanted the deputy to crash the car “so we could both go to hell.” When the deputy reached the town limits of Dolores, the man under arrest lay on the rear seat and began trying to kick out the rear window. After being cleared by hospital staff, the man was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center. He was charged for driving a vehicle under the influence, driving without a valid driver’s license and menacing.
Saturday, April 6
6:29 p.m.: Two warrants were served to an inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center.
Sunday, April 7
1:45 p.m.: An abandoned vehicle was removed from the 26000 block of County Road H near Mancos.
5:33 p.m.: A deputy assisted a semitrailer driver whose vehicle’s brakes had failed while it was parked at the Travel Center at 1 Mike Wash Road.
Tuesday, April 9
9:12 a.m.: Two state warrants and one federal warrant were served to an inmate in the Montezuma County Detention Center.
12:03 p.m.: A man in the 13000 block of Colorado Highway 145 was warned for conducting a burn during a high wind advisory.
