Adaptive Sports Association, a Durango-based nonprofit sports and recreation outfitter for the disabled, will host summer program volunteer trainings at the end of May.
Training is free, and it helps volunteers interested in the outdoors connect with residents.
Volunteers are needed to assist with daily programming including whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, cycling, camping, rock climbing and more. No prior experience is necessary.
ASA’s programs help to enrich and transform the lives of people with disabilities through sports and recreation. By working with students overcome physical and cognitive challenges, ASA staff and volunteers help clients “explore possibilities.”
Volunteer canoe and kayak trainings are May 23 and May 30. Rafting trainings are May 28 and May 31. Cycling trainings are May 24 and May 29. For more information or to RSVP, call 259-0374, visit www.asadurango.com, or email [email protected].
